"11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." Matthew 24:11-14
Jesus Christ
The son of man, the son of God, and the Messiah. What wonderful titles the Savior has come to be known as. I know you are thinking, "How is He the son of man and God?" Well, let me tell you! He is fully man and fully God. See God humbled Himself to come to our level and reason within our mind. God is the God of all and has no limit. Jesus, being perfect born, shows us just how pure God is. Jesus was the result of such purity and love. In the short time of Christ, our mediator, He gave everyone the opportunity to live, not just daily, but eternally in the kingdom of God. There are some steps we must follow to gain the keys to Heaven. God is not looking for us! We must seek Him! Only through Christ can we enter!
The Books of the Gospel
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the four books of the Gospel accounts. These evangelists followed Jesus and scribed the accounts of all the followers of Christ. This is why the Bible is true! There is no other religion that has direct following of a true savior, meaning, they follow a false idol. Jesus served with the followers of His word and gave many things to witnesses of the time. Those who rejected Christ were of other religions or of Jewish culture. Islam and their prophet of religion would not come until approximately 500 years after Christ. All through the Bible we see the "golden calf" of religious regions just as Moses led the Israelites to safety, and they forgot within 40 days of their LORD's gift. Elijah condemned BAAL and the prophets that falsely worshipped him instead of God. Solomon worshipped many Gods and angered the one true God due to lusts. All these events lead to Christ and His sacrifice so that we could be saved and the followers were the witnesses of the truth!
Essentials of the Gospel
There are several key points here that we must cover! The Gospel can be very deep to the roots; however, we can sum it up so that it is understandable or in a nutshell! Do not misconstrue my words! We can sum them up, but that does not mean if we just recite them and tell ourselves to believe it then it is true. We have to live in the word of God. Too often people come from bad pasts or have hardened hearts and then they change for Christ. They accepted Christ. It is possible to change from who we were. We were dead in our sins, but through Christ and His salvation we live again.
- The birth of Jesus through His virgin mother
- Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, as she was pure, and God utilized her for her purity to bear the Messiah
- The perfect life of Jesus that led to His ministry
- Jesus was a tradesman. He lived a life of service and worked to build His ministry through showing a devotion to serving others. He led a wonderful meaningful life until His time to fulfill God's plan.
- He travelled sharing the "good news" and giving hope to those that needed it.
- The death of Jesus while bearing our sins
- Jesus taught, He loved, and He shared the truth. He healed and performed the works of God. He showed that miracles and works were of God, but faith was the foundation of our salvation and the fruits of that were our servant works.
- Good Friday, He was sent to be crucified. He endured nine hours of agonizing torture and pain for us.
- His final cries to God, "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani" was a finishing point that His bearing of sin was fulfilled.
- His proclamation that His work was finished, He rendered His Spirit to God and His body passed away.
- Resurrection of Jesus
- Jesus lay in His earthly resting place for 3 days (until Easter Sunday) and He rose!
- The Angel appeared and opened His tomb!
- Jesus walked amongst the earth to provide proof.
- The temple was restored after three days.
- The ascension of Jesus
- For 40 days, Jesus remained.
- His teachings continued until He lifted to Heaven
To sum up the Gospel we must accept that Jesus was born, lived, died, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven for our sins. We must accept that we are wicked sinners and that we cannot do it without God. Our true human nature is of evil and Jesus gave Himself for it. We cannot do it without knowing the blood of Christ was spilled for us. God gave us our savior and the plan to live forever in His presence. It is our responsibility to God, to share His word. We must share the Gospel so that Jesus did not die in vain! We owe it to God for giving His son for us.
Lord, thank You for your eternal sacrifice for my wicked soul. Thank You for delivering me from the devil's deceit and providing comfort while he tries destroy the good You accomplished. God, thank You for the grace and mercy You bestow upon us, even though we are so underserving of Your kingdom. In Your name, we pray. Amen!
