"I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me should not abide in darkness." John 12:46
Out of darkness
Darkness can come in so many forms. Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, anger, lust and many other things. The devil lives in these areas to grab hold and manipulate your mind. He uses the very scriptures we read and stretches the truth just a little to seem true, but is completely false. There is never one easy way to handle some of the things listed. It takes time, healing, and God above all to work through your anguish. False teachers and prosperity teachings say that you do not have to suffer and should live abundant lives.
False Teaching
We are seeing more and more of the mega church mindsets and prosperity teachings. There are so many teachings that state, "we should not have to live in poverty or suffer." This is completely against scripture. All through the Bible, we see God's chosen suffering at their own hand of disobedience or God's will for the better. We can choose to be happy and put our faith in God or we can remain on a self-destructive path. All the apostles and followers of Jesus suffered the same fate as Christ. We have to go through suffering to see the good sometimes. We look at the person that wins millions or has nice cars and think it must be awesome. They have their own suffering that we do not know about. It may not be portrayed to the public, but everyone has suffrage. False teaching does not help those in need. We cannot say, "You just pray for wealth, and you will get it." That is false. Scripture says, "Ask and you will receive." It does not say pray for money and you will be rich. We still have to work for the outcome. I am not saying God does not bless those who ask, but everyone would be millionaires if we just prayed for money. Instead pray for salvation and acceptance and you will live abundantly in Christ!
Acceptance and abundance
God is the creator of all. God knows everything that is, ever was, and all there will be. We must accept Jesus in our heart, repent from our sins, and pray for forgiveness. I know what you are thinking! "Well, I already do that!" Through Jesus, is the only way into the kingdom of God. As stated in John 12:46, He has come as a light! A light to remove darkness, to give us peace in our hearts, clear our mind of past sins and look forward to living a life of service to God. Accept Him and all that He has accomplished for us! Live abundantly in spirit! Live abundantly in the riches of grace from God Almighty! Take the riches of His mercy and grace and pay off your sinful debts by repentance. Move forward and be filled with spiritual wealth.
God, thank You for the opportunity to see light in dark times. Without You, we would not be able to do anything! We would be consumed by evil and never be entered into your eternal kingdom. In Your name, we pray. Amen!
