Daily Struggle

Daily Struggle

Struggle is something that we all do! We do not get to just say that everything is ok and it magically disappears. No matter where we are in our lives or what possessions we have, we will struggle with something. Top performing athletes, CEOs of businesses, pastors, and anyone else who has the ability to make mistakes or reflect will struggle with something at some point. We only have one human being that was perfect on this earth and His name was Jesus Christ. Just remember that whatever you are going through, the struggle will lead to a positive through Christ. Paul, in prison, wrote to those in Colossae, and stated, "remember my chains (Col 4:18)." He endured some of the worst treatment someone could and he still proclaimed Jesus and remained joyful in his heart until his execution.

Trusting in the Lord

I had this struggle for a long time. I let things settle in my heart and mind that removed my trust and faith. No matter where we are, we will battle. We are in spiritual warfare and must not take it lightly. I came from a place of depression, anxiety, and carelessness. I did not want to "waste" my energy on religion and think that God was the showing me light in the darkness. I trusted that I knew what was best for me and would save myself. Idolatry of self was destroying me. I did not worship myself, but I trusted myself instead of the Lord. Then convictions took over and I began to see things a little different. I began reading the Bible, had conversations with a pastor, and things started changing within my heart. I was regenerated by the Lord and my heart was turned. I gave my trust to God for His plan and and His will. We must give it all to Him and surrender to His will.

Devote to Praying

This is a struggle for almost everyone. Martin Luther was devoted to his faith and famously said, "I have so much to do today that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer." Imagine if we spent three hours devoted to just speaking to God. How much better would our spiritual lives be? See, God gives us everything we need, but we want more. God provides us with true joy, but we want happiness in the flesh. If we would spend some extra time praying to connect with God instead of praying for a handout, our spiritual joy would multiply.
